[Amazon] Why does my ASIN rank to a "strange" keyword?

Within the framework of the research module we regularly query several million keywords and their search results. You can find out when and how often we query keywords here:

We already noticed at the beginning of January 2020 (01.01.2020 - 15.01.2020) that Amazon apparently made changes within the search results during this period, so that there were numerous products which were found within the search results with keywords that were apparently "strange".

Take the following ASIN, for example: B078WBQZ6Z, this is a hair care product.

When we discovered this product (B078WBQZ6Z) on amazon.de on 08.01.2020, we found that this ASIN was available at that time for the keyword: "iphone 7 plus lifeproof case" in the corresponding position within the search results.

Why this ASIN could be found in exactly this time period, for exactly this keyword on the respective position, we unfortunately cannot say, since we only measure this.

However, it is a fact that even an Amazon customer or Amazon searcher would have discovered this product (B078WBQZ6Z) on 08.01.2020 for the keyword: "iphone 7 plus lifeproof case" when searching on amazon.de.
