[Shield 1] What is the difference between "analytics" and "portfolios"?

ANALYTICS

Analytics are brand or merchant portfolios automatically created and calculated by AMALYZE. They are created and updated for each brand and merchant in the respective marketplace with the first "discovery". Analytics are detailed evaluations of the development of the respective merchant or brand portfolio.

In a brand analytics, all (known) ASINs are taken into the analytics which belong to the brand at the respective update time of the portfolio.

In a merchant analytics, all (known) ASINs are considered for which the respective merchant had the buybox(es) at the time of the respective update.

The analytics are available online and are also sent as PDF files via email, usually once a day.

Analytics also offer historical data, going back to the time when the analytics were created. This is usually the day AMALYZE first "discovered" a new brand on the Amazon marketplaces available in Shield, starting mid-April 2019.

PORTFOLIOS

While the analytics are created and defined by AMALYZE, it may well make sense to put together your own observed portfolio. Basically, a distinction is made between static and dynamic portfolios:

Static portfolios:

Static portfolios refer to a previously defined and unchanging set of ASINs. All these ASINs are considered in the evaluation of the portfolio, but the set of these ASINs remains identical.

Dynamic portfolios:

Dynamic portfolios do not refer to pre-defined ASINs, but to ASINs that have certain criteria. All filters of the product research can be used as criteria.

For example, the following portfolio can be created. "Look at all products that belong to the brand "Pampers", are in the category "Baby" and in the price range of 10 - 20 Euro".

When generating the evaluation of the portfolio, all products that meet the above conditions at the time of generation are now considered. This means that a dynamic portfolio "grows" or "shrinks" automatically, according to the ASINs that meet the above-mentioned conditions.
